The Importance of Living in Your Truth

HONESTY is one of the most desired things amongst people. Yet very few are willing to do it, be honest.

First and foremost, honesty starts within YOU! If you aren’t being honest with YOURSELF the expectation for others to be honest with you isn’t fair…

Day after day we walk around entertaining friendships and relationships that we’re unhappy in. Perhaps it’s fear of losing the person that keeps us from expressing how we feel. What’s making us unhappy in these relationships. When the truth of the matter is, we should be more afraid of losing OURSELVES because we can’t be honest.

Your TRUTH is one of your most prized possessions. If you’re in a relationship and you’re NOT being loved properly, you have a right to speak up. Otherwise, you will stay miserable settling for mediocrity. If your friendship is one-sided and you’re not gaining as much as you’re giving. You have a right to speak up. Or you will continue to suffer.

It’s unrealistic to expect for the people in our lives to know how to love us. To know how to be a good friend to us if we’re not capable of showing them. And to effectively help someone learn how to love us we must know how we want to be loved. And that starts with being HONEST with yourself. Knowing your likes, dislikes, triggers, etc… is very important. Because you have to be able to convey that to others.

I know from personal experience that it is very possible to lose yourself wrapped up and consumed with another’s life. We spend so much time trying to make the people around us happy that we don’t even know what makes us happy.

One of the hardest things for me was the discovery that I was actually lost. And my journey to find ME has not been easy. I had to decide to live in my TRUTH and as a result, I lost a lot…

BUT, I also gained ALOT! I had to get comfortable with MYSELF. I had to learn MYSELF. As a result, I gained a level of confidence that won’t allow me to let anyone mistreat me. Confidence that allows me to be comfortable with change and growth.

I can now effectively teach people how to love me and I can be ok with people that are not capable of loving me the way I need to be loved. I’m ok with losing people. I’m ok with upsetting people.

I am no longer willing to sacrifice ME to make them happy. I choose to LIVE IN MY TRUTH!
